Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account data — your email address and a securely hashed password.
• Content you create — your searches, saved build lists, and any photos you upload.
• Registrations and VINs — if you enter one, we use it to look up the vehicle's make, model, year and engine, and what its latest MOT flagged (the same public record gov.uk shows). We keep those vehicle details for a registration so repeat lookups are quicker, but not which account looked it up, and we don't save the registration or VIN with your search.
• Payment data — handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• Usage & technical data — basic logs, and browser storage used to run the app.
• PartAgent Pro enquiries — if you register interest in a version for businesses, the name, business name, email, business type, sourcing volume and any comments you give us on that form.

How we use it & our legal basis

• To provide the service and your account — performance of a contract.
• To send alerts for searches you choose to watch — your consent.
• To take payments for search packs and subscriptions — performance of a contract.
• To keep the service secure and improve it — our legitimate interests.
• To contact you about PartAgent Pro if you asked us to, and to gauge whether to build it — your consent. We do not use these details for anything else, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.

Who we share it with (processors)

We use trusted providers to run PartAgent, who process data on our behalf:

• Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
• Vercel — website hosting, and cookie-free visitor statistics (which pages are viewed, not who viewed them).
• Stripe — payments.
• Resend — sending your email alerts.
• Anthropic — AI processing of your search text to understand the part.
• DVLA and DVSA (UK government) — a registration or VIN you enter is sent to them to identify the vehicle.
• NHTSA (US government) — a VIN the UK records don't recognise is sent to its free VIN decoder.
• Search & marketplace partners (eBay, Google Shopping, SerpAPI) — to find listings.

Some providers may process data outside the UK/EEA under appropriate safeguards.

Cookies & browser storage

We use essential browser storage (localStorage) to keep you signed in and to count your free searches. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your data, request portability, and withdraw consent. To exercise any right, email hello@partagent.co.uk. You may also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).

Children

PartAgent is not intended for anyone under 16.
